 In recent years, the confectionery market and industry in Japan have been facing a major social structural issue of a decreasing population due to the rapidly declining birth rate, and various other issues such as the high cost of raw materials and securing sufficient human resources.
Meanwhile, new markets are being created such as for health-conscious products and the demand for confectionery as meal replacements, against a backdrop of changes in lifestyles.
